Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen

Client: Wizards of the Coast - Dungeons and Dragons

Tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects

Objective:

The "Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen" project aimed to immerse players in an epic narrative, making them feel like leaders of vast armies amidst intense conflicts and overwhelming odds.

Visual Elements:

The project utilized a dark, fiery aesthetic with elements of fire, embers, and villain-centric artwork to convey the harsh realities of war and the sinister aspects of its narrative, enhancing player immersion through a gritty visual and emotional landscape.

Process and Solution:

After exploring art and themes from previous Dragonlance series entries to emphasize war, dragons, and epic battles, a dynamic border system was developed. This system visually represents the narrative's escalating tension and danger, transitioning from red to white-hot to purple, reflecting the progression towards the ultimate villain. This approach revitalized the Dragonlance series' essence, capturing its grandeur and brutality while immersing players in a thrilling world on the edge of chaos.
